About FlowRow
I am Andreas — rower, coach, inventor.
Rowing has been my life for over 40 years. First in a racing boat, then in a motorboat as a coach — and today in my own small company, where I turn rowing machines into racing boats.
FlowRow is not a corporation. It is an idea that was born on the water — and a promise: training that doesn't feel like a chore, but like flow.
Milestones
Three lives in rowing
Two-time German Champion
In the racing boat, I learned how something difficult becomes easy: through thousands of repetitions, on good days as well as bad, until the movement is perfected and looks effortless.
Coach up to World Championships & Olympics
I have accompanied athletes to national championships, world championships, and Olympic Games.
Engineer & Inventor
In 2021, I developed and patented the FlowRow Board — bringing the movement of the water home.
Moments from my time as a coach: regattas, national team, medals — and people whose lives were shaped by competitive sports.
Why the FlowRow Board exists
Every rowing machine stands still. Water never does. This difference captivated me: On the lake, your sense of balance works with every stroke — it balances, stabilizes, reacts. On a static machine, all of that disappears.
So, as an engineer, I built what I, as a rower, missed: two movable boards that make your rowing machine sway sideways like a boat. Your deep muscles train with every stroke — automatically, without you even thinking about it.
One product, one face
FlowRow is a small company: I develop all the different versions of the FlowRow Boards myself and have them manufactured in Europe. Every order is assembled in a Caritas workshop — by people with disabilities, with great care and dedication. When you write to me, no support team responds — but I do.
And if you want to experience FlowRow firsthand: In my studio in Ennetbaden near Baden (Switzerland), we row weekly in small groups — to the rhythm of music, with personal coaching.
